The Hacker Fund | Youngstown

The Hacker Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families with children facing medical hardships in our community.

Since 2014, The Hacker Fund has raised more than $239,000 through its annual Hacker Classic Golf Outing and Fairway Frenzy Gala. These events have made a lasting difference—funding roughly 20 wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, providing direct assistance to local families in need, and awarding three college scholarships to deserving high school seniors.

Our impact is reflected in countless inspiring stories: purchasing an all-terrain wheelchair for a child, sending a family on a deep-sea fishing adventure, helping secure a therapy dog, and supporting local students as they pursue college dreams aimed at giving back to others.

Changing Lives

The Hacker Classic started it’s Annual Raffle in 2021, raising over $43,000 which has helped:

2021, Austin Geib: Purchased an all-terrain wheelchair (“TrackChair”)
2022, Sofia Kale: Assisted in home renovations for wheelchair accessibility and a home addition
2023, Peyton Schuller: Provided funds to assist with cancer treatment
White Family: Assisted in purchasing their daughter a therapy dog

2024, Aubriella Augustine: Purchased a prosthetic eye after a battle with cancer
2025, Juliette Dietl: Helped support Juliette in her fight against Glioblastoma

19 Wishes Granted Since 2013.

When my son Jason went through kidney failure and my other son donated his kidney to save his life, I realized how fragile life truly is. Even before the surgery, Jason wanted to help others and established the “Hacker Classic” which raised over $200,000 in 11 years. This is a very special event filled with love and support that is clearly felt by everybody in attendance, as well as the children and their families which it supports. I am a very proud father to see all of the positive impacts that have helped so many.

The Hacker Classic is an event that brings so many together from all over the United States with people attending for one common goal: to help individuals facing hardships out of their control. Helping these individuals through granting a wish or supporting a local family during trying times means so much to our family.
